Dealing with a design professional and construction expert is crucial. This ensures discovery of potential problems early on and not out in the field.

Design Service

Johnson Homes designs custom house plans and remodels. We provide exemplary design services to our custom home building and remodel clients. The design process is where Eric's creativity and attention to detail come through. 

This is our 4-Phase design process.

Phase #1: The initial meeting and lot evaluation. We will meet to discuss your project and review any relevant photos and drawings. A site visit is a must. Evaluating your lot for view orientation, drive way access and slope. We will also assess sun exposure, septic or sewer location and privacy.

Phase #2: The model phase. The design starts in a 3D modeling format. You will take a virtual walk through during the modeling phase. This is a powerful feature that will give you a very good grasp of your design at this point. Your design will not move forward from this phase until you are 100% satisfied. We complete a preliminary cost analysis at the end of this phase.

Phase #3: The working set of plans. Develop your finished model into a working set of plans. Draw a site plan and complete an energy analysis.

Phase #4: The engineering. Send your plan in for engineering and transfer all engineering details to the final set of plans. A final edit and review with engineering specifications will be done. Once completed your plan is ready for permit application.

We will develop a build schedule and produce the final cost analysis upon phase #4 completion. Remodel designs follow the same four-phase process.

Construction Service

Johnson Homes builds custom homes from the ground up. Beginning with site evaluation, through the design process, to the complete build out.

Johnson Homes uses well-established sub-contractors and trades people from the local area. We have used some for over 20 years. Eric Johnson is on the site almost every day while your project is under construction. He makes himself available to all trades people to help maintain a good workflow. Eric is there to aid in the decision making process when questions arise. His presence saves valuable time and averts potential slowdowns. Eric is always on site for building inspections.

Johnson Homes builds high quality projects on schedule and within your budget. One-way Eric is able to achieve this is by not over booking projects. We take on one or two projects at a time, staggering their start date. In most cases the design for the next project is being worked on while another is under construction.
